PROJECT OVERVIEW
Barking Dog Bookstore is an independent bookstore concept built around community, discovery, and the joy of reading. The goal was to create a warm, approachable brand identity that captured the personality of a neighborhood bookstore while incorporating a playful connection to rescue dogs.
The brand system combines expressive typography, playful illustration, and cohesive print and digital applications to create a recognizable experience across customer touchpoints.

CREATIVE DIRECTION
The visual direction balances the warmth of a local bookstore with a playful, modern identity inspired by storytelling, community, and canine companionship. Expressive typography, approachable colors, and playful imagery create a personality that feels welcoming while remaining flexible across customer touchpoints.
The identity was developed as a cohesive visual system so the brand could translate naturally across print materials, social media, and digital experiences.
PROCESS
The project began by identifying the qualities that would define the bookstore experience: community, discovery, warmth, and a playful connection to rescue dogs. The moodboard helped establish the visual territory before moving into logo development, typography, color, and supporting applications.
From there, the visual system was tested across different customer touchpoints to make sure the identity remained recognizable while adapting to both print and digital formats.
